How to vote
The 2024 board is closed and the game comes back in 2028, but there’s an election most years. These are the official places to register, check a registration and find a polling place. They are not tied to any one race.
Before election day

Check whether you’re registered, and register if not. Deadlines fall weeks before the vote in most states. vote.gov

Find your polling place, or check whether your state lets you vote by mail or vote early. Early voting calendar

Read up on what is on your ballot. Local contests and measures are usually decided by far fewer votes than the top of the ticket.

Vote on or before election day. If you’re in line when polls close, stay in line. You’re entitled to vote.
If you’d rather register on paper, the national mail voter registration form is accepted by every state except New Hampshire, North Dakota and Wyoming.
